SAN FRANCISCO BOTANICAL GARDEN AT STRYBING ARBORETUM
We have an ongoing relationship with the San Francisco Botanical Garden that started in 1995. It began with a Master Plan and Schematic Design for renovating the County Fair Building. We facilitated public meetings and worked closely with the many constituencies that use the complex. The existing complex is to be expanded with an education building, children's garden, education wall, and a replacement of the nursery facilities. In 2001, we helped develop an Interpretative Master Plan for the Garden, which included development within the nursery complex. In 2006, after a series of sustainable design charettes, we completed the Concept Design for the Nursery: Center for Sustainable Gardening. It is currently in the preliminary design phases and is anticipated that it will be certified as LEED Gold.
“Laura and her team designed a beautiful project that could meet the Garden’s needs and make best use of the site, all within a design aesthetic that emphasized simplicity, functionality, sustainability and alignment with nature.” — Sue Ann Levin Schiff, former Executive Director of San Francisco Botanical Garden Society
